Vocational Training Sessions in Cyprus
The three-day vocational training programme was led by Dr. Georgios Afxentiou, researcher at the Georgios Afxentiou Research Laboratory and adjunct professor at the Cyprus University of Technology. The programme combined theoretical instruction with practical workshops, equipping participants with knowledge and skills in social entrepreneurship, innovation, business strategy, apiculture, environmental sustainability, digital technologies, and community development. Through interactive learning, case studies, practical exercises, and expert guidance, participants explored business planning, financial practices, legislative requirements, and sustainable apiculture while developing innovative solutions to address local community needs. On the final day, participants collaborated to generate business ideas, prepare business plans and feasibility studies, and present social enterprise concepts designed to promote sustainable economic development in rural communities. The training strengthened participants' entrepreneurial competences, encouraged knowledge exchange, and enhanced their capacity to establish innovative and socially responsible enterprises within their local communities.
